Highly energy and action with great visual effects, makes you feel like your going through it. Wayne THE ROCK Johnson at his best. I feel it's kid friendly over 14 yrs depends on the child, might be scary for little ones. I highly recommend this movie, it arrived early it was a new 2 disc special, and the price you can't beat. Actors and action an A+.

Was quite disappointed in this movie. From reading some watchers' reviews, I thought it was going to be great, but it wasn't. It had all the pitfalls and cliches of a disaster movie (like killing off the unlikeable side character to unbelievable situations where danger is extreme yet the main characters don't die); and this story had none of the sacrifice that gives meaning and depth to some disaster movies. The effects were also not that great. CGI was quite noticeable in many places. Characters were not engaging. The main characters did nothing to help out other people, but were only focused on saving their daughter. Finding one girl in a ruined San Francisco was just too unrealistic.

Dwayne Johnson at his best! Alexandria Daddario and Carla Gugino also star in this masterpiece suspense/action DVD! I highly recommend it. Don't want to give everything away or you might not buy it. Let's just say there's an earthquake and a tsunami and a lot of great action!

Movie was great, nothing that would cause me to watch it again. Special effects were very good and loads of it but sometimes a little over board. Just another typical "worlds gonna end the stars make it out alive" kind of movie..

I saw San Andreas in the theater and couldn't wait to see it again on a big screen TV. The special effects are amazing, the acting is excellent, and the story (although parts stretch believability) is fast-paced. I could nit-pick some of the logic in the film, but Dwayne Johnson and the rest of the cast are so likable that I "suspended my disbelief." I usually don't do that, but there have been a recent series of "eye candy" movies which throw science and logic out the window, like the Star Trek reboots. Many scenes force me to ignore that situations created just because it would be cool to see them could never happen even in the imaginary logic of their universe. We are asked to just enjoy the special effects, or sit home and watch re-runs of Earthquake and Wrath of Khan. San Andreas is fun. I live in Los Angeles and hope the Big One never happens and, while I also find my enjoyment of seeing it happen disturbing (but I'm a guy and I like sci-fi and explosions and extreme heroism no matter how far-fetched), I can recommend this film (in wide-screen or letterbox, whatever you want to call it, so you can see everything and the ends aren't chopped off). The special effects are incredible. And I hope this kind of devastation remains in the movies.Read full review
