Easy to use! Just point and shoot. Used this for measuring the temperature of tempeh, finding cold air leaks in walls, and measuring the temperature of a catalytic converter for emissions testing. Readings are very fast and accurate. Was able to find and plug multiple cold-air leaks around so-called insulated windows while the wind was blowing and the outside temperature was below freezing. Saved enough on my heating bill for only one month to pay for several Nubees. The unit automatically turns off after about 10-15 seconds saving battery life. This IR thermometer would make a great gift.

Nubee temp gun with laser, non contact version, so not as pin point accurate as a contact temp probe. But, it's $12 with shipping here, it works well for the task and costs less than a lunch does. Try one out, can't go wrong for the price. Nice bright display, accurate to within a couple of degrees.

I was looking for an inexpensive, non-contact, wide range thermometer and ran across this gem. Learned the instructions in less than a half minute. Attractive blue lcd display background. Amazingly accurate, has both *scan* and *hold* functions. Even comes complete with a battery! True plug and play. For fifteen dollars, what's not to love? Buying a second - just for fun!

We moved into an apartment and received an enormous electric bill. I purchased this temperature gun to identify which heat vents were not working. Six out of 14 vents were not blowing hot air. I drew a floor plan showing which 6 vents were faulty and showed the apartment manager. Maintenance staff worked on our HVAC system. Most of the vents are working now.
